Link #183 - Leaving Loneliness

Greetings in the name of Jesus.

Karen and I have been away on a “Canada East tour” and so we have fallen behind on our Bloor Central Link messages. But we are back in the promised land of Toronto and look forward to the summer together. We are really excited about the coming weekend of ministry at Bloor Central and wanted to fill you in on what’s going on.

The big news is that we are launching a new series of bible lessons this week with “Leaving loneliness”. In fact this summer is going to be a journey that I hope we can all join in together from “Loneliness to Friendship”. Any time I travel I really dislike the preparation time. The packing, making sure you have everything, making sure everything fits in the car - it is a drag. However, if you don’t prepare for a journey properly you will find you don’t have what you need to enjoy your trip. So this week we are spending some time in preparation. What do you need to understand about this journey so you can be prepared this summer to leave loneliness? That is where we wills start this week at SUNDAY WORD, 10am.

There are only two more weeks left for our Community Meal this summer. You are most welcome to join us this Saturday (July 13) from 4-6pm - you can bring a friend or make a new friend when you get here. Our last Community Meal of the summer will then be on July 27. Our Community Meal does not run during August.

You might notice that I skipped over July 20! That is the week that we head up to Jacksons Point for our annual picnic and this weekend will be your last opportunity to sign up. We have busses leaving Bloor Central on Saturday July 20 at 8:15am. We go up to The Salvation Army camp at Jacksons Point on Lake Simcoe which is about an hour north of Toronto. We spend the morning at the camp and then share a BBQ lunch together. After lunch some people go for a swim in the lake and others just hang out till 4pm when the busses head back to Toronto getting back in the city between 5-5:30pm. If you want to book a seat it will cost $20 which includes transportation and lunch. If you want to join us but will bring your own transportation it is just $10 for the BBQ lunch and you will also need to let us know you are coming. As a result of our picnic we will be no community meal on July 20.

After a couple weeks away Karen and I really look forward to seeing you at Bloor Central this weekend.

Blessings to all.
