Link #69 - Building a new Bloor Central

Greetings in the name of Jesus!

As we have endured all the confusion of covid one thing we have recognized - God is at work. We’ve been reminded over and over that God is doing a new thing and we want to join in what he is doing. Over the next 8 weeks we will be exploring 8 declarations made by Jesus that offer us a foundation to build a new expression of Bloor Central. As we meet together over these weeks the question we will continually ask ourselves is What kind of people and community has God called us to be so that, united with Him we can journey with one another from brokenness to blessing?” This Sunday, October 2 we will consider “Blessed are the poor in spirit…”.

Also this Sunday we will be going downstairs after the service to share lunch together to celebrate the upcoming wedding (I’m talking about Jahred and Jessica). Please plan to join us!

As a result of the wedding we are unable to prepare a community meal for October 15. Please take note of this and pass on the news to anyone who might plan on joining us that night. October 15 is the only week we will not be here for the community meal (we’ve nicknamed it “7 ate 9”). Please feel free to drop by and join us for a meal Saturdays 4-6:30pm.

Lastly I wanted to pass on news about my father, Colonel David Hammond. Many from Bloor Central will remember him as he was an active member of our congregation in the past. A week ago he was taken by ambulance to Sunnybrook Hospital where it was determined that his heart was in failure. On Friday he had a procedure to repair a valve which was very successful. We are grateful for the prayerful support and wanted to let you know he plans to return home on Monday.

Look forward to seeing you Sunday!
