Greetings in the name of Jesus.
Bloor Central is in full Christmas mode and we invite you to all the action. This weekend we are particularly excited to have a visit from The Salvation Army Divisional Headquarters as Brian and Lynn Armstrong will be joining us. Brian will be sharing at SUNDAY WORD on “The Infinite Infant”. Come join in Sunday at 10am as we move closer to Christmas. Don’t let Christmas pass you by! This is your chance to get yourselves ready for all we celebrate at Christmas.
We also have our last Community Meal of the year today (Saturday) from 4-6pm. As noted below the meal will be closed for both December 21 and 28, opening again again on January 4. We hope everyone knows we close for these two Saturdays is so we can properly prepare for our Christmas Party on Christmas day! This is our biggest event of the year and we want everyone to know they have a place to go on Christmas day. Our Party starts at 11:30 am Christmas morning and goes through till 3pm.
Along with all the special events on the go we want to remind you that we continue to raise funds through our “Christmas Kettle” campaign. This is our major fund raising event for the year. Greg Peterson is signing up people to stand on one of our four Kettle stands around the city. If you have some time to offer it would be greatly appreciated. As of Thursday December 12 our total was $21,262.60 which is very encouraging as we push towards $40,000. We offer our deepest appreciation to all those who have been offering time to the Kettle Campaign!
Below is a list of what is going on over the next few weeks. The big event for this weekend is the “Carols by the Fireside”. On Sunday evening we will be gathering in the parking lot for 6pm. We have a wonderful group of musicians coming for a carol sing while we sip some hot chocolate. It has always been a fun event at Bloor Central and we hope you can join us. Last year we had a number of people from the community drop by so it is a good way to meet some new friends.
