Holy Tuesday

John 12:23-25

23 Jesus replied, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. 24 Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. 25 Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

From what we read in the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) this was the busiest day of the week for Jesus.  He first went to the Temple where he was teaching, and many were trying to confuse him with trick questions.  Later in the day he went to the Mount of Olives just outside Jerusalem where he continued to teach.  The passage above from John 12 is one of his lessons from Tuesday.  How does the lesson of a “single seed” apply to the life of Jesus who will hang on a cross in just a few days?
