Holy Monday

Jesus at the Temple - Luke 19

45 When Jesus entered the temple courts, he began to drive out those who were selling. 46 “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be a house of prayer’; but you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’”

Reflection:

On the Monday of this week Jesus visited the Temple.  In the old testament time the Temple represented the presence of God, but in New Testament (where we live) we don’t need the temple because we live with the Holy Spirit “in” us (eg. 1 Corinthians 3:16).  It was on this day in Holy Week that Jesus tossed out the people that were dishonouring the temple.  As we move towards Easter, is there anything going on in your body (eg. temple) that is dishonoring the Holy Spirit?  An essential part of our preparation for this special time of year is to cleanse ourselves of impurity.
