Link # 138 - Pictures of Jesus for 2024

Greetings in the name of Jesus.

It just seems that the Bloor Central Christmas Party gets better each year - I know I say that every year but I mean it. This past week special mention must be made of Erin Parkin who was a last minute “call up'“ and ran the kitchen beautifully. The organization of Greg Peterson and Catherine Grouix is so important to keeping the day on track and I’m not sure anyone could imagine the day without them. For the last couple years we’ve had the Metcalf family (three generations of them) come and offer some music which has been so great in creating that special atmosphere. The list goes on and on… To all the volunteers in the kitchen, serving food, cleaning up, helping with games, running the photo booth we offer our deep gratitude. It was a great day to celebrate God with us.

For those how have not heard we had a great year in fundraising for the Christmas Kettles. Again Greg Peterson, but also James Hammond did a great job of organizing this important fundraising for us. This year we topped $40,000 which will be used to support our work in the community. For all of those who took time to stand on a Kettle this past Christmas season - “You are a blessing!”.

Although our Community Meal (7ate9) will be closed this Saturday December 30, our Sunday Word service will be in full swing. We meet on Sunday morning at 10am so seek God together and we hope you will join us on the last day of 2023. Beth Pearo will be sharing the ministry this Sunday and the focus will be on “Pictures of Jesus for 2024”. This will be a very creative and engaging bible lesson preparing us for the New Year.

Our next Community Meal (7ate9) will be on January 6, 2024.
