Greetings in the name of Jesus.
Many people learn to draw near to God so they may receive something from God. Some come for healing, joy, wisdom, protection, guidance. I remember a specific time when I realized that following Jesus offered so much more then just something I could get for myself. I remember when I realized I could participate in God’s plan for the world. Suddenly my faith experience took on such incredible significance as I realized it was not just about what I could get, but about what I could be a part of. If you have not realized the privilege of being used by God you are missing an exciting part of being a Christ follower. Do you want to be used by God? This Sunday, at Sunday Word we will be recognizing foundational issues on how God can use us. This could change your life and I hope you can join us (in person or on online).
Over the next couple months there is going to be a lot going on that will affect our rhythm at Bloor Central. There have been many people asking when we hope to establish a routine and at this point there is still considerable uncertainty. Karen and I will be taking a big chunk of holidays and Greg, our Community Service Coordinator, will be taking some well deserved time off when we return. By the time everyone gets back it will be time for us to be preparing for Christmas. Add to all this the continued uncertainty around the pandemic. We are constantly hearing rumours about restrictions being relaxed one day, and tightened the next. Consequently, we don’t anticipate that we will be establishing anything of a routine before January 2022.
After saying all that, please be assured that we are continuing to prepare to move forward and activities continue. The teaching schedule is listed below for Sunday Word. We continue to gather on Sunday mornings at 10am for our socially distanced bible study at Bloor Central . Although it is a much different format it has been great to get together and share in the scripture. As most of you will know the teaching from Sunday Word has been live streamed on our YouTube channel, and later posted on YouTube for those unable to attend at 789 Dovercourt. Unfortunately, those live streams will end September 5 through until Karen and I return in October. We hope that everyone who can will be gathering on Sundays at 10am for Sunday Word.
