Link #207 - DISTRACTION - IT’S A KILLER!
Greetings in the name of Jesus.
Here we go with another Bloor Central week full of blessings and adventure. There is so much going on I’m going to itemize the list.
Community Meal - 4-6pm on Saturday.
In many ways this represents the high point of our week, at least in terms of our mission in the city. We provide hospitality to our neighborhood inviting them to share a meal with us. This week our menu includes a vegetable curry soup, Greek salad, Greek Chicken with rice and a fruit cocktail with toasted coconut. Please feel free to join us and bring a friend.
2. SUNDAY WORD - 10am on Sunday
Each week we gather to seek God together. Last week we had a wonderful time exploring what HOPE is all about and recognized that God is the source of all hope. If we know God is the source of hope, why do we find it so hard to hang on to it? This week we will look in the bible at one of hopes greatest enemies - DISTRACTION. It really is a killer.
3. 24/7 Prayer
On Wednesday November 27 Bloor Central will join with Churches across North America in creating 365 days of unbroken prayer. Our commitment is to have someone praying in our prayer room from 12am this coming Wednesday morning until 11:59pm Wednesday evening. To book yourself in for an hour please go to 24-7 Prayer International - Sign-Up onliine. Signing up seems pretty straight forward but if you have a problem please speak to Doug or Karen on Sunday. Our prayer room is always available for prayer so if you would like to drop by to pray you are most welcome but we are seeking people who are willing to make a commitment to pray at a specific time.
4. Christmas Kettles.
We have a great time over Christmas at Bloor Central. Along with all the activities we also have a responsibility to raise funds for the ministry in our Food Center. Our Christmas Kettles give the public opportunity to donate to our work. If you are available to offer a three hour shift sometime over the Christmas season please contact us. You can send and email to kettles.bloorcentral@gmail.com or phone and leave a message at 416-531-8031 ex. 105. If all that fails you can speak to either Greg Peterson, or James Hammond on Sunday about how you can join in.
Buckle up everyone cause the action is about to start. See you at Bloor Central.
