Link #103 - Special Ascension Day Edition

Greetings in the name of Jesus.

Last Sunday we spent some time considering the reminders that Ascension Day offers as we considered something of what the day represents. On Thursday, May 18, Christians around the world will take time to be reminded of the significance of the day. Indeed there is lots to consider on this day and it would be our loss to overlook it. Today in the news I read of wars, homelessness, natural and man made disasters, crime etc.. It can sometimes be overwhelming as we consider what is going on in our world. One issue we discussed last Sunday was that Ascension Day reminds us that Jesus, our Lord sits at the right hand of the Father. That means Jesus, who is working on our behalf is in a place of authority and power. In a world that can seem out of control be reminded today that our Lord sits at the right hand of God. He is in control. His purposes will not be frustrated. He is working all things out for good. Count on it.
